About me
Hello, I’m Vivienne, a nutritional therapist and health coach with a passion for helping people improve their health, and for the future.
After developing a variety of seemingly unconnected symptoms - fatigue, head-to-toe hives, recurring tonsillitis - the only recommendation I received was for anti-histamines and antibiotics but I felt like there had to be an alternative. Despite making (mainly) healthy, home-cooked meals for the family, I found myself relying on sugary snacks to survive being a stressed, busy, sleep-deprived, working mum. I was also struggling to find my exercise-identity after (reluctantly) leaving competitive netball, my sporting-love since the age of eight. This perfect storm left me void of energy, confidence and general sense of identity and wellbeing.
After much personal research, time with a nutritionist, an elimination diet and food sensitivity testing, it confirmed my long-suspected reaction to dairy and eggs, and over-reliance on sugar. Making changes to my food habits, I felt the difference in as little as two weeks. This was the catalyst to explore nutrition and lifestyle changes that work for me and my constantly evolving schedule. This learning journey inspired a career change from marketing to nutrition, and has shaped the way I work with clients.
Knowing what I now know, my poor sleep had likely switched my immune system to high-alert, the stress and high sugar consumption probably contributed to gut dysbiosis and compromised detoxification. The result - inflammation, aching joints, struggling to get going in the morning, brain fog, sadly the list continued. Maybe you identify with aspects of this story - the types of symptoms, ‘putting up’ with not feeling right, symptoms arising after a change in life-style or -stage, too busy surviving to know where to start, or wondering if you even have the energy to implement change. Please know I hear you, you’re not alone, and I’m here to support you.
I am a Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner with a BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy from the University of Portsmouth (through the Institute for Optimum Nutrition), and registered with the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I am also a certified Health Coach, qualifying through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and registered with the UK and International Health Coaching Association (UKIHCA).
